Walking the path, creating everyday.

I’m Josh. When I’m not capturing photos and video footage in the back country, I’m either working to control a wildfire (and taking photos there as well), road tripping across the country, or laying low in my small home town in Pennsylvania. I’ve been creating visual art in various capacities for 14 years. From photographing weddings and creating content for businesses both large and small, I’ve developed a minimalist kit of what I know works even in the most austere conditions.

more about me:

I used to weigh 450 pounds. 25 years of undisciplined comfort seeking behavior had me well on my way to an early grave. A lot has changed between then and now. Losing 200+ pounds and hiking for nearly 6 months along the Pacific Crest Trail in 2022 are the defining accomplishments of my life. Between my thru hike and spending summer of 2023 as a wildland firefighter I may have spent more nights sleeping under the stars than in a real bed. And that’s where I prefer to be, out in nature roughing it with nothing more than I need to survive and create.

The lessons learned through my journey are applied to my creativity. Over the years I have developed a unique style I’ve come to refer to as “raw and authentic.” The path I’ve walked has defined who I am and has shaped my outlook on life and what the human experience is all about.
